Urban landscapes and air quality the focus of CAR symposium
More than 85 people attended CAR’s symposium in Sydney on 31 May, which focused on the air quality and health challenges of changing urban landscapes.
The day began with keynote presentations from Professors Mark Stephenson and Chris Pettit, followed by a variety of concurrent research presentations.
The Chaser’s Craig Reucassel led the afternoon session, presenting on what we could learn from the War on Waste television series about how to engage the public in matters of air quality, specifically, how can we make the health threat seem more imminent? Craig chaired a lively panel session to end the day.
Congratulations to Amanda Wheeler, Tom Cole Hunter, Mona Elbarbary who received awards for the best presentations and to Yik Chan for best poster presentation.
